The Omega Vault
The Omega Vault is the top-tier way to acquire cards in ChessVS. It is not always available — the community votes each off-season on whether to open it.
What you get
When the Vault is open, you may buy one Vault per season. It costs 2,000 CVS and guarantees:
- 1 Omega card from a curated pool of 6 Omega variants chosen by the community.
- 1 season-exclusive board skin — a cosmetic available nowhere else, never reprinted.

The community decides
Every off-season, CVS holders vote on the Vault. The vote decides:
- Whether the Vault opens at all this season.
- How many Vaults are available.
- Which 6 Omega variants go into the curated pool.
If the vote doesn't pass, the Vault stays closed for that season. This makes an open Vault a meaningful signal — it means the community chose to support that season.
The lifetime XP gate
From Season 2 onward, buying a Vault requires 50,000 lifetime XP. Lifetime XP is cumulative and never resets. The gate ensures the Vault rewards genuinely committed players rather than throwaway accounts.
Why it isn't always open
Seasons without a Vault create scarcity and anticipation. A closed Vault one season makes the next open Vault more meaningful. The community manages this rhythm deliberately through the vote.
