Quests
Quests are short goals you finish just by playing. Each one pays FOCUS and XP. You don't claim anything: the game pays you at the end of the match that finishes the quest.
Today's quests
Three quests are up right now, one from each tier. They are the same three every day.

Finish all three and you earn 100 FOCUS and 900 XP for the day.
How quests work
- They unlock on your third day. Each day you open the game counts as a session, and quests open at Session 3. Until then, the lobby shows a lock and the session you're on. The first days are for learning the board and your cards.
- Everyone gets the same quests. Every player sees the same three on the same day.
- They count your real matches. Progress comes from the matches you finish. You never have to start a quest.
- They pay automatically. When a match ends, the game checks your quests. If one is done, a message pops up with the FOCUS and XP you earned. There's no claim button, and each quest pays once a day.
- They reset at midnight UTC. When the day turns, progress starts over. That's the same moment for everyone, whatever your time zone. The Quests page counts down to it.
What counts
Real matches against other players count toward quests:
- Quick, Casual and Ranked matches
- Tournament games
- Sovereign Duels
These don't count:
- Friendly games
- Practice games against the AI
- Sparring Room lessons
- Puzzles
For Activate a Battle Card ability, your cards have to be in the match. A Quick Match is pure chess with no cards, so play Casual or Ranked for this one.
Where to find them
Your quests are in the lobby, under Quests. Each row shows your progress and the FOCUS it pays. Tap View all to open the Quests page. It shows every quest's tier, what it pays in FOCUS and XP, a progress bar, the countdown to the reset, and your streak.
Your streak
The Quests page shows a day streak: how many days in a row you've finished at least one quest. It's there to track your rhythm. It doesn't pay anything extra.
Quest FOCUS is on top
The FOCUS you earn from matches has a daily cap. Quest FOCUS doesn't count toward that cap, so you can hit the cap in matches and still earn your quest FOCUS.
Tips
- Three matches can finish all three. Play three Casual or Ranked matches, win one, and fire a card along the way.
- A rough day still counts. Every loss moves Play 3 matches along. Everyone's a woodpusher in a variant nobody has played before, and two of the three quests don't care who won.
- Check before you queue. A glance at the lobby tells you what's left for the day.
